2. The Greenhouse Effect Has Not Been Scientifically Proven

“CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another… Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot”— Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.

“Nature’s regulatory instrument is water vapor: more carbon dioxide leads to less moisture in the air, keeping the overall greenhouse gas content in accord with the necessary balance conditions” – Dr. Miklos Zagoni, prominent Hungarian Physicist and environmental researcher.

“Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will have little impact, as water vapor and water condensed as particles in clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will” – Geoffrey G. Duffy, professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

“Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant gas, in fact it has positive consequences. The greater its concentration in the atmosphere, the greater plant growth. The Sun’s activity is the main factor affecting the planet’s climate, but is barely mentioned. Experts are afraid to speak and of being accused of receiving money from the oil industry. I myself have been the target of personal attacks” – Timothy Ball, former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg, Canada

“I have yet to see credible proof of carbon dioxide driving climate change, yet alone man-made CO2 driving it. The atmospheric hot-spot is missing and the ice core data refute this. When will we collectively awake from this deceptive delusion?” – Dr. Guy LeBlanc Smith, retired Principal Research Scientist with Australia’s CSIRO.

“The Kyoto theorists have put the cart before the horse. It is global warming that triggers higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, not the other way round” – Prof. Andrei Kapitsa of Moscow University, Russian geographer and Antarctic ice core researcher.

“The [global warming] alarmists have confused cause and effect. As solar radiation warms the earth, CO2 is released into the atmosphere from the world’s oceans” – Dr. Habibullo Abdussamatov, Head of Space Research, Pulkovo Observatory, St. Petersburg.

“The policy of so-called environmentalists, ignorant of geology, is actually a policy of collective suicide. Geologically speaking, CO2 emissions are not a problem but a solution for a better life here on Earth” – Geologist Anderson C.R. Soares, writing in “Aquecimento Global – Realidade e Fantasia” [Global Warming – Reality and Fantasy].

“In fact, global warming has stopped and a cooling is beginning. No climate model has predicted a cooling of the Earth – quite the contrary. And this means that the projections of future climate are unreliable” – Prof. Henrik Svensmark, Director of the Centre for Sun-Climate Research, Danish National Space Centre.

“There is no proven link between human activity and global warming” – IPCC vice-president Yuri A. Izrael.

“There is no direct evidence linking global warming in the twentieth century with anthropogenic greenhouse gases” – Prof. Nir Shaviv, Racah Institute of Physics of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

“We can’t say that CO2 will drive climate; it certainly never did in the past…”— Prof. Ian Clark, Dept. of Earth Sciences, University of Ottawa.

“We can certainly go for carbon dioxide control and sequestration, but this is likely to be somewhere between highly and catastrophically expensive. And to what end, if that isn’t the problem? I’m not alone in this position. Merely one of a large minority. But those with the power evidently don’t want to listen. So is this science or just politics?” – Robert Essenhigh, Ph.D., Professor of Energy Conversion, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Ohio State University.

“An examination of warming and cooling trends over the last 400 years shows an “almost exact correlation” between all of the known climate changes that have occurred and solar energy transmitted to the Earth, while showing no correlation at all with CO2” – Don J. Easterbrook, a geologist with Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.

“Anyone who goes around and says that carbon dioxide is responsible for most of the warming of the 20th century hasn’t looked at the basic numbers” – Prof. Patrick Michaels, Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia.

“It is a search for a mythical CO2 sink to explain an immeasurable CO2 lifetime to fit a hypothetical CO2 computer model that purports to show that an impossible amount of fossil fuel burning is heating the atmosphere” – Prof. Tom Victor Segalstad, head of the Geological Museum of Natural History, University of Oslo.

“ There is no falsifiable scientific basis whatever to assert this warming is caused by human-produced greenhouse gasses because current physical theory is too grossly inadequate to establish any cause at all” – Dr. Patrick Frank, a chemist who has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles.

3. Specific Points That Scientists Also Dispute

“We’re not seeing negative effects on the polar bear population from so-called climate change and receding ice. “Polar bears are very intelligent . . . they have adapted through many climate changes for thousands of years… When we hear that polar bears are headed towards extinction, we just kind of smile at ourselves” – Harry Flaherty, head of the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board, Canada.

There is no conclusive scientific evidence to link global warming with what is happening in the Himalayan glaciers.” The minister added although some glaciers are receding they were doing so at a rate that was not “historically alarming”. The report contradicts the 2007 report of the IPCC the glaciers were receding faster than in any other part of the world and could “disappear altogether by 2035 if not sooner” – Jairam Ramesh, India’s Environment Minister, The Guardian 9-11-09.

“This 20% figure [of CO2 emissions on the planet from deforestation] released by the G8 is a ‘guesstimation’ going around the world. And so far, Brazilian science has not bothered to check this information out. The G8 must be wrong and based on weak data” – Gilberto Camara, director of Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE).

“The sea level is not rising. It hasn’t risen in 50 years” – Prof. Nils Axel Mörner, former president of the International Commission on Sea Level Changes.

“We have this view today that warming is going to have Apocalyptic outcomes. In fact wherever you describe this [Medieval] Warm Period it appears to be associated with riches. All over the City of London there are little memories of the vineyards that grew in the Medieval Warm Period. So this was a wonderfully rich time” – Prof. Philip Stott, Department of Biogeography, London University.
